Teen Titans #27, JSA Classified #2
Aug. 24th, 2005 08:05 pmOther than having to deal with a hot sun, my day was fairly normal and things went exactly as I planned them to-mostly. I went to work, did what I needed to there, left and was able to make it to Heroes before it opened. I found out, unfortunately, that Robin had been pushed back one week, and that was also confirmed on the site. That left me slightly irritated. I was, however, able to pick up the latest Teen Titans issue and JSA Classified, and here are my thoughts on them:
Teen Titans #27
I like that the first part of this 2-part saga was Robin-based. Or, to state it a bit more, I like that the Titan who's thoughts were focused on were Robin's. It would make sense to do so; the Teen Wonder is out with his fellow Titans on a day I myself don't particularly enjoy that much-Father's Day. The storyline for this issue is pretty awesome and is something I can follow. The artwork is...tolerable, since it will only be seen for one more issue. There were some humorous parts in this book, such as the small parts between Robin and Cyborg.
JSA Classified #2
This issue I've been waiting for about a total of two weeks. I wish DC Comics would release the issues when they have them originally dated, but then again, the writers of these issues are quite busy with other things and projects, so I guess I could cut them some slack. The artwork on this issue was just as good as in the last one, meaning the team of Johns-the same guy who does Teen Titans-Conner and Palmiotti are doing just fine for only 2 issues. There weren't that many panel shots of Power Girl's chest as in the first one, and the battle between her and the Legion was pretty okay. Superman, Supergirl and Jimmy Olsen even made appearances in this as well, and that was neat to see. There was even a reference to Supergirl #1 made in this issue also.
After collecting the issues, I headed down to one of the two haircut places in the city-the ones that are 30 minutes away from where I live-and got a haircut. Unfortunately, it now costs a grand total of $12.95 for a haircut when before, it cost only $11.00. I got the haircut as planned and was actually able to pay in full. Afterward, I headed back toward home but made a detour to drop off a DVD I'd picked up last Wednesday-Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. It was pretty good for a movie that had only been made in 2003. The quote for this evening comes from the aforementioned Teen Titans issue.
"Dammit, we're better than this...This whole day is descending into chaos." -Robin, Teen Titans #27: Legacy-Part I
