A Decent Day...
I went into work, early like I usually do on Wednesday, but since I had to put those tables away on Monday, the only thing I had to do was take out the trash, which was good. Though, I still ended up 5 minutes late to the comic book store, since I missed the bus and decided to walk instead of waiting for the next one. I got two issues for the price of $7.01, and read a few others that I will pick up at a later date.
In other excellent news, I've nearly finished paying off my Layaway items. All I need to do is head by a bank early tomorrow, get my check cashed, then head down to Wal-Mart and pay the remainder of the bill-$6.87, I believe the current price is.
Infinite Crisis #2
Once again, one issue with two different colors. (snickers) As tempted as I was to get the one with Power Girl's...back facing outward while she stared at what was once known as the Multiverse, I chose to get the one that featured Power Girl in the center of a few heroes-Superman, Lois Lane, Superboy-Prime, and Alexander Luthor. True, those names sound quite familiar, but once upon a time...there was more than one Earth, etc.
I was pleased to see that Karen-or, as Kal-L called her, Kara-finally remembers everything and that she's no longer alone. Though, Kal-L's purpose for returning to "this" Earth sent chills down my back. If things progress in the format I believe they will...I won't be a pleased individual.
Teen Titans #29: Life and Death
Since a few of my friends online have used this word, I will do so just this once. This issue, for all intents and purposes, deserves a squee rating.
Why? It's the confrontation every Robin fanatic has dreamed of happening, but didn't think it would! Tim Drake-current Robin-v.s. Jason Todd-former Robin; current Red Hood, has now become reality due to DC Comics deciding to bring him back from the dead. (Why he's back is still a mystery and won't be revealed until March 2006, as its explained at the back of the issue.)
There wasn't a part of this issue I didn't like. Amidst the battle between Tim and Jason that raged throughout the Tower and in the memorial for fallen Titans, Cassie and Conner even got some screentime-Cassie is still upset at her mother-and Wonder Woman-for keeping the truth from her: that Zeus is her father; Conner, much like in Infinite Crisis #1, is still brooding over his actions back in Teen Titans #24-25 and Outsiders #24-25. (I thought the panel that showed Cassie lined up with Tim, Conner, Greta-formerly known as Secret-and Cissie-formerly known as Arrowette-in a picture frame in Cassie's room was sentimental and shows that Young Justice will always be remembered.)
What I truly enjoyed in this issue was that Jason wasn't in Red Hood garb during his battle with Tim-he was in full Robin costume! This was truly a battle of the Robins, something that undoubtedly won't be seen with Stephanie. (Unless DC Comics decides to bring her back, too, though that would be improbable; she's only been gone for one year.)
Back and forth-Tim and Jason both made the other bleed, countered the other's moves with moves of their own, and it all came to a head in the Titans' memorial. Though, Jason ended up knocking Tim out for the count just when the current Boy Wonder had gotten his second wind and knocked the former Boy Wonder for a loop.
I was partially surprised to see Starfire cradling Tim at the end, but she was supposed to meet up with Cyborg and Donna Troy, along with a few other former Titans, at the Tower. Plus, Tim is Dick's successor and Kory's friend; it would only be reasonable for her to ensure his safety.
The quote for this evening comes from the latter issue, an issue that was truly worth the wait.

Yeah-a brief shot of Lillith was shown at the end of Teen Titans #26, behind Brother Blood, and now she's back, as is the aforementioned Brother Blood. Hopefully, we'll get to see a bit more light shed on this subject within 2-3 weeks.

She's not officially his mother (in biological terms) but she's the person in hell or something, that Blood chooses. If you recall, he goes through his "mothers" pretty damn fast. Last comic, he picks out a new one, or something.
I was wondering if Lillith would come back. That would just complete my "NOBODY DIES, EVER!" theory, but...it's explained apparently in Infinate Crisis. The dead are rising, only because the universe is f***ed. And maybe, when they change it, the dead will go back to being dead.
So don't get too comfy with Red Hood. *sniffle*
