Things seem to have gone a bit better for me this time around-with the exception of the fog that's come in and, for the past two days, has shrouded the skies and virtually left us without the sun. (True, it's still up there, yet no one can see it.) I could see the moon yesterday evening, but this evening, I couldn't see it at all.
I bought two current up-to-date issues yesterday before heading into work-one up-to-date, one that was pushed back one month-and two back issues. It cost me a bit more than I'd planned, but I believe it was worth it. The reason it cost me a bit more was due to the fact that I made a decision that I know was worth it-I decided on Tuesday to head to Borders and buy my mother's last Christmas present. And, since I have done so, I can honestly say that I'm finished with my shopping.
Today, I got to head to where I normally get my hair cut and basically got my haircut once more. (My mother provided me with the money, and informed me that I was to give her the change.) That means that my current picture is of the past, but as someone I know once said "c'est la vie."
JLA #123
Normally, I'm not one to pick up the JLA issues, but since Supergirl was featured in it-even if only for a brief time-that was a good reason for me to get it. She, along with Red Tornado, was chosen to help Donna Troy out concerning the battle that's to take place beyond the cosmos. (Ironically, they've shown the chosen warriors already in Infinite Crisis #2; Infinite Crisis #3 has been pushed back a couple weeks. I'm not pleased with that, but it's life. It's not meant to work out all the time.)
Batman, Green Arrow and Black Canary were featured in this as well, meaning I could possibly pick up the next to last issue next month. It's scheduled to have Batman face Green Arrow in battle-something I'm eager to see.
Superboy #33
This back issue focuses on "The Final Night" saga. (I already have the issues of Robin and Supergirl that focus on that saga, so I figured this would make it three.) The Kid found himself taking on a monster that came out of a volcano-yet used to be a human before falling inside-and couldn't touch him without getting burned.
That's even not to mention the small triangle he could be in concerning his friend Roxy-who'd admitted her feelings for him and gave The Kid a stunning kiss-and his ex-girlfriend Tana, who he had to go save when the volcano had gone off.
Supergirl #55
Another back issue, but this one has Linda Danvers as the aforementioned Maid of Might. This one was quite humorous, in that Linda had to save then-President Luthor from a possible assassination attempt. (lol) Of course, when Linda realized how long she had before the attack took place, she warred with herself about doing the right thing.
"I've got to do something! (reads from paper for a total of six minutes) AWWWWW, FUDGE! I HATE BEING ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS!"
Though, seeing Supergirl have to remind herself that saving Luthor was the right thing to do, was pretty neat. Yet, when she dived in front of a missile to save him-and it ended up covering her with a pie-that was not only cute, but near hilarious to see.
Teen Titans #30
This issue should've been released in November, but it has also been pushed back a month. I hope this gets resolved soon, but I have my doubts. As I figured, Robin wouldn't be in this issue since he's been in the last three, but I didn't mind that too much.
I wasn't too pleased with seeing pages of someone known as Captain Carrot-even if it melded with the story in some way-but I enjoyed seeing the moment between Beast Boy and Raven that resulted in them actually sharing a kiss. I thought the part that featured Cassie was handled well, and Ares staring at her while she left the school was well-played. The second part might be released in a couple of weeks, if it isn't pushed back to next month.
