white_tiger: Tigerzord! (Robin/Spoiler-The Sky is Falling...)
I ended up going to work early, since I wanted to try my best to avoid the blazing sun in the afternoon-I wasn't too successful in that attempt, though; I blame UPS for showing up at 2nd Dimension too damn early in the morning! (I'll get to that later.)

Anyway, after work, I showed up at Heroes, deciding it would be best to buy a few, if not all, of the chosen issues that were coming out today, and the ones I didn't get, I would collect at a later date. After careful consideration and weighing the pros and cons, I decided to stick with my favorites and bought Robin #140 and Teen Titans #26.

Robin #140: I enjoyed the storyline setup, and the artwork seems to be doing well under the watchful eye of McDaniel and Owens. (The cover is a perfect example of their combined artwork, by the way. (points down to earlier post for aforementioned cover))

I can't get used to the Veteran, and it's not just because of his desire to take Tim away from Batman. I've kept my eye out for past issues of Batman, and seen the confrontations between Batman/Nightwing and Red Hood, and noticed Jason's fighting technique to be a bit more...advanced, as it were. Plus, I noticed Robin's comment to the Veteran that he "likes those whom Batman trains," meaning without a shadow of a doubt that he could've trained Jason. The hesitation within the Veteran's team told me that they did try to recruit Nightwing when he had been Robin, despite their "no comment," and "need-to-know-only," blah, blah, blah. Cassandra should watch her back 24/7, when she gets back from her self-appointed quest to find her mother.

Teen Titans #26: Basically, this one was like I assumed-Superboy goes on a soul searching journey, though I hadn't expected Raven to just pop up like she had. (Going timewise, I'd say this issue would take place before the Return of Donna Troy arc, plus it seems to fit with the events in Gotham Central and Robin.) The artwork concerning both Conner and Rachel was truly astounding. I enjoyed the small moment they shared when they both caught a look at Conner's self-created soul.

Can't say anything bad about the issue, save for the part with Brother Blood. That can only spell trouble, and may bring Deathstroke back for a spell, so to speak.

Young Justice #55: Talk about a blast to the past! I came across this issue while at 2nd Dimension and wasn't going to pass up on the opportunity to grab it. I'm pleased that I did, because it fills up a lot of gaps and undoubtedly lead into The Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day minisaga, plus the then-newly formed teams of the Teen Titans/the Outsiders.

Either sometime tomorrow, or next week, I'll be picking up Batgirl #66 and JSA Classified #1 and will give my comments on those issues. (Reason none of the new issues-or, possibly my order-showed up around the time 2nd Dimension opened was because UPS showed up around 10:00 AM-very displeasing to hear, yet I've somewhat gotten over that.) The quote for this evening comes from the final issue of Young Justice.

"People always ask, 'why Young Justice?' I'll tell you why: Because we're so damned glad that we found each other, that we hold on to each other like life preservers as the flood waters rise. We don't get more complicated than that. We don't have to." -Robin, Young Justice #55: I've Got a Secret
