I'll talk about the issues I bought today-and yesterday-in a separate link. (sighs) It seems as if things are getting worse with every week that passes. First, the terrible tragedies concerning Hurricane Katrina back in August. Then, Hurricane Rita. Now...Hurricane Wilma. (is sorely tempted to mention something about the Flintstones.)

I haven't had time to accurately look at this link yet, but I'm hoping that the people who live near where Wilma is heading have evacuated or are in the process of evacuating. (sighs) That's me...always the optimist, trying to find a shade of good in what are potentially bad situations.
Batgirl #20
This issue was quite good and had some humorous moments. It featured Spoiler's first-ever appearance within the pages of Batgirl, as Batgirl #18 featured Robin's first-ever appearance in her book and Robin #70 and 73-during the No Man's Land saga-featured Batgirl's first-ever appearances within the pages of Robin. The part I enjoyed was at the end:
Spoiler: ...How about a trade, B.G.?
Batgirl: Trade?
Spoiler: You teach me that trick with the Batarang and I teach you how to read.
Batgirl #25
This issue...was worth buying. Not only is it a landmark issue (25 normally has extra pages in most of DC's books.), but it featured Cassandra and Shiva's death match (Or matches, since Shiva killed Cassandra, then brought her back...) and, the ending brought me up to speed on the dialogue Batgirl and Robin spoke about concerning Shiva in the recent, yet back issue, of Batgirl #59. And, as stated in the book, Cassandra is now the most famous female martial artist in the DC world. Pretty cool, in my opinion.
Batgirl #69
This issue was the most current one to be released and follows with the "Destruction's Daughter" saga. This would be the fourth part, after Batgirl was frozen by Freeze at the end of last month's issue. Batgirl and Nyssa had quite a few words to say to each other, even if Batgirl was frozen from neck to toe. A mentioning of a Lazarus Pit was brought into the conversation, one that Nyssa had still running. Also found out something amazing about Freeze's wife. The last I heard about her, an accident had occurred during one of Freeze's confrontations with Batman and her body ended up shattered. Strangely enough, she was fully restored in this issue, but still frozen.
Batgirl offered to help Freeze out, and Freeze, by getting her freed from her frozen state, put his trust in Cassandra. Not sure if that was entirely a good thing or not, since when Freeze dumped Nora into the Pit, she came out...with glowing eyes. The conclusion of this saga had better be real good; though, with Batgirl facing Shiva, Freeze, Nyssa, the League of Assassins, an unknown number of zombies (?!) and now an unfrozen Nora...things don't look good at all for Barbara's successor.
Robin #143
This issue was tied in to the completed 6-issue saga "The OMAC Project." (grins) Willingham finds ways to surprise me. Just like back in Robin #141, this current issue seems to hold it's own and ties up a few loose ends from past Robin issues. It features Johnny Warlock-for hopefully the last time-and quite a huge number of OMACs. Also featured the Rising Sun Archer-who had last been told by Robin to leave Blüdhaven and never return back in Robin #137-and someone from the pages of Nightwing #100-Tarantula. Why she's out should be explained next month.
There was a part I liked when Robin was taking on a few OMACs-still with the damned Veteran and his team. One scanned him, then stated this: "Target Identified. Affiliated With Creator." (The words "irrelevant" and "terminate" were said afterward, but those words aren't important, since we know he survives.) I wonder if Tim will figure out that his mentor, Batman, has *something* to do with these OMACs. There was a mention of "The OMAC Project #6" in here, since the OMACs turned back into humans during their battle. Next month, Robin's gonna team up with the Shadowpact-and, unfortunately, the Veteran still-to keep Blüdhaven from erupting into chaos after what just happened in this issue.
