Was given this letter by
phoenix_san, so I get to come up with ten words beginning with that letter and an explanation on what the word means to me and why.
Safe-The word reminds me of my baseball experiences when I was in elementary school and my junior year in high school. It's an expression used by the umpire when you slide into home plate after running from third base.
Sane-The word reminds me of individuals in movies who have just been cleared from a mental institution. A word used to describe someone who isn't insane.
Serious-The word reminds me of a determined superhero and/or villain from either a television series, a movie or a comic book. A word used to describe a person who has a sincere, or an earnest look on his/her face.
Staind-Reminded of the band that has released a ton of amazing albums during the past six or seven years; I have yet to buy any of their CDs but hope to eventually buy their current one, Chapter V. A word that is the name of an alternative band that has been around for a number of years.
Sleep-The word is a constant reminder of what I like doing from 11-7, or perhaps later than that. A word that describes what people do at night time or in the daytime.
Standing-The word is described in a number of ways, like a status/reputation, a standing position, lasting; permanent, or not in use.
Supergirl-The word basically describes one of DC Comics' intriguing characters, who has gone through a number of identities throughout the years, like Linda Lee, or Cir-El, or one favorite of mine, Linda Danvers-though one name remains the same and was just brought into the current DC Comics-Kara Zor-El, the name of the current Supergirl.
Staff-The word reminds me of the weapon used by a number of fictional heroes-Donatello from the old-and current-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series/movies, the current Robin/Tim Drake in the DC Comics, and Robin/possibly Dick Grayson in the Teen Titans series that was just axed by Cartoon Network. (A terrible mistake for them to do that, in my opinion.) A word that describes a wooden weapon used in combat.
School-The word reminds me of my school career, basically-my years in primary school, my elementary school/junior high years, and my high school years. A word that describes where students go to in the morning, afternoon and possibly evening.
Security-The word reminds me of the Peanuts' character Linus Van Pelt-he has a security blanket that he carries around, much to the chagrin of his elder sibling Lucy. She once asked him what he would do with the blanket when he grew up. His response? "Maybe I'll turn it into a sport coat." A word that describes a sense of protection, freedom from fear.
This is how it works: Comment on this entry and I will give you a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter in your journal, including an explanation what the word means to you and why, and than pass out letters to those who want to play along.
