Titans Together...

The day so far, save for finding out something concerning my friends that upset me, has gone rather well-and since I've picked up two new issues of Supergirl and Teen Titans, I'm stunned and amazed over what's taken place.
I hung out with my friends yesterday afternoon near my home, but still within the complex. One of them was nice enough to bring sodas for us. However, it was afterward that caused my evening-and part of this morning-to sour. One of my other friends, after the former had left and I had to head back, left our empty cans littered on the ground and assumed that I would be back and put them in the recycling bins! I had been informed about this last night, and that got me irked.
This morning, upon my return from the comic book store, I knew that I would have no alternative but to do just that-otherwise, the office would be alerted to the incident and my mother would get in trouble-hence, I would be in trouble. I don't plan to hang out with my friends during the remainder of this week, and perhaps not next week either. My mother told me that my friends were high-maintenance; I'd have to agree wholeheartedly with her.
Batman #654
I should've had my response for this issue and my Spider-Man issue up last week. Still, better late than never, as the old saying goes. I'm rather surprised and a bit dismayed that Harvey Dent is gone and Two-Face is back. Still-as yet another old saying goes-the more things change, the more they stay the same.
A change is that an individual by the name of the Great White Shark framed Harvey, which eventually led to his return to a life of crime as Two-Face. Another change is something I didn't expect would happen, but hoped: Bruce will adopt Tim Drake as his son. Now Tim has two adopted brothers in Dick and Jason-the latter being the black sheep of the family, the former framed by the latter as shown in Nightwing.
Supergirl #7
With the month of June stamped on this issue, it's proof that the previous issue should've originally been released in March with the other One Year Later issues. Still, the cover looks astounding, as is a shower conversation/scene between Kara and Power Girl.
It seems that ever since the Supergirl: Power saga, Kara's been struggling inside about her true path. It was touched a bit in Supergirl #6, and it was shown in greater depth in this issue. Supergirl and Power Girl, under their aliases as Flamebird and Nightwing, took the fight to "Kal-El" in this, and things were going great...until Kara nearly beat the pretender to death and found herself conflicted again.
In the end, I was left astonished on the second-to-last page with Kara kissing "Kal-El" and Power Girl looking on with tears down her face-and a high-heeled boot pressed against her head. Despite the fact that the issue took a while to be released, I'm eager to see this climactic showdown between Power Girl and Supergirl in Supergirl #8.
Teen Titans #37
The way things work with the Titans is this-you wrap up one story arc, and at the very end you leave a cliffhanger that intentionally brings you back next time. That's what's happened in the conclusion to this 4-part saga; same as with Robin, the Titans have left a shocking cliffhanger that will bring you back next time.
First off, the Titans and the Doom Patrol were able to put a stop to the Brotherhood. Concerning the Brain, his body wasn't stable enough; in simple terms, his body was dying. So, his brain-so to speak-ends up back in the jar, and their relationship remains "stable."
Speaking of relationships, the one between Rose and Eddie looks like it's off to a hot start as evidenced by her bathing suit appearance near the end of the issue. And, as for Robin and Wonder Girl...she found out his secret. That, plus Robin snapped and destroyed the majority of his lab before having a one-on-one talk with Wonder Girl that eventually led to a kiss between the two of them. The aftermath of this kiss will be shown within the next Titans arc, and if any kind of relationship develops from said kiss, it would more than likely be taken slow and steady.
The Amazing Spider-Man #533
Last week, I decided to pick up the Batman issue because it shed some light on what I perceive to be a dark situation-the dark situation being that Spider-Man, in continuity, revealed to the world his secret identity. There may have been some humorous moments in this-like Peter talking on two phones-two members of the Fantastic Four on one line; Mary Jane and his Aunt May on the other-then putting the two phones together when the four parties talked with each other and somewhat left Spidey out of the loop-but, other than that, virtually nothing but dark.
One, Jameson was irate when he found out and actually sued Peter due to the Spider-Man pictures the Daily Bugle had published for years, and Peter now has to pay "no less than five million dollars." Two, when Flash Thompson found out, he denied the truth, saying that Spider-Man was fooling one of his enemies, and that they weren't dumb enough to fall for this. Three, the majority of Spidey's enemies, plus most of the superhero community, were watching as Spider-Man unmasked.
Now, in the wake of this revelation, Spider-Man may have to go up against people that he's fought alongside for a number of years, with people that he's fought alongside for a number of years. Ironic, in my opinion.
"I've lost too many people...I miss him so much." -Robin
"I do, too." -Wonder Girl, Teen Titans #37
"Pray you're strong enough." -Supergirl, Supergirl #7
